Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our ‘Blog’.

We’ll be using this to keep you informed about anything interesting that happens at Wia Music.

First up:

Woodie is still in the shed designing the next few products, and once we have patents filed for then we can let you all know about them. I know there’s a few of you keen to see them, so it won’t be long.

NAMM 2010:

Paul Templeman and I are exhibiting at NAMM 2010 and we are situated in Hall E: Booth 1682. It’s the quieter hall, so if you want a sit down and a cup of coffee, then I’ll have milk with no sugar and I’ll provide the chairs and conversation

Paul will be demoing Woodies G-Band throughout the weekend and we’ll be showing off Woodies Hanger (difficult as they are transparent).

Our first months:

Have been great! Thank-you to everyone who has bought the hangers and to everyone who has viewed the website. We’re really quite surprised with the initial sales and interest. We have to give a special nod to Neville Marten and everyone at Future, who have been really supportive.

We’ve had some fantastic feedback from customers and forum readers, so thanks to everyone who helped with the development of the products and the website.

Special thanks go to Scott Spock photography and Rufus design.

The gallery is looking really good and please keep your pictures coming in, the more the merrier.

Woodies G-Band:

Harvey Reid has used the G-Band on two tracks on his wonderful new album Blues & Branches available here.

Christmas:

Royal Mail assure me that we should be able to post in the UK right up until Dec 23rd for Xmas delivery and 21st for the Rest of the World. If you can place your orders asap though just in case.

Not sure which one of you created this, (and you really don’t want to waste your money on, let alone need the expenses of a bull*hit Marketing Dept here), but the product speaks for itself. History: It’s the coolest guitar hanger I’ve ever seen. It’s two pieces of translucent polycarbonate that mount to any wall or even the ceiling and hold the guitar by the strap buttons. The hanger never even touches the guitar! It locks in securely and comes out with the flick of a finger. When the guitar is on the wall you can barely see the hanger and because it’s translucent, it’s hardly noticeable when the guitar of off the wall. The thing is genius. The model I bought hangs guitars like Strats and Teles but they have models that hang Les Pauls with the angled headstocks and SG’s with the strap button on the back
Pros: No mess on the neck of my guitar and it’s up off the floor where it can’t get knocked over. I also liked that I can hang it at any angle I want – diagonal, vertical, horizontal, upside down…whatever. I also like that it doesn’t look ugly when it’s off the wall. Easy to install. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver.
Cons: Nothing. Best guitar hanger I’ve ever found. Wish they had a model for acoustic guitars.
Quality: The thing is tough. I think it could hold the heaviest electric guitars no problem. The brackets are strong and the moveable one is easy to flex to remove or replace the guitar. The packaging is cool too.
Review Summary: It’s definitely worth $20. I’ve got my guitar up exactly where and how I want it. The flexibility the hanger allows for putting your guitar anywhere is awesome!

Easy to install. Since you cannot see the hangers, the guitar looks like its floating in air. Very cool. I hung the guitar (Les Paul) straight vertical. I will buy this again if I ever hang another guitar.

We’re going to do a new video when the weather gets a little better (probably in July knowing Sunderland weather!), to show everyone how strong the hangers are.
I’m going to drive the car over one. I’ve tried it. The hangers are fine. Don’t laugh at my car. Please.

The video of how the hangers work is getting some good hits on youtube. All the videos can be found on the video page. I’ve shaved my beard off since then. I regret it.

We’re gearing up for a very busy Christmas…

With a little editorial and a series of ads in Guitar World, we think it’s only a matter of time before everyone has a floating guitar on there wall.

We’ve put the acoustic model on hold until later in the year, I wanted to redesign the slot-head version (it’s currently too big).

We should have some prototypes of our newest product soon also keep watching!!

Hello there.

Well it’s been a quite few weeks, but the Glastonbury Blues have gone (at last) and we’re gearing up for a very busy few months.

We have a few packaging changes in place and some wonderful new Counter Display boxes, which will make the Hangers a little easier to find in your various stores.

Georges Music in the USA have a guitar hung on every store wall, so if you’re near to one, pop in and ask for a demo!

It’s been a hot summer so far in the UK and it seems strange to be gearing up for Christmas and Winter NAMM, but we’re shooting the new advert in a few weeks time and digging all the Xmas decorations out

The Acoustic Hanger is rapidly approaching. We start tooling next week and we have decided to put both a standard and slot head model in the pack.

Hello all,

It’s not getting any quieter here at Wia Music HQ.

Scott and I are  working on the Acoustic Model with AMAP and Hexham Developments, and we’re working hard to get the existing hangers into your local shop.

We’re working with a bunch of distributors and they’re a good group of people.

We’re a new company, but Scott and I have been very careful to choose cool people who believe in the products to work with.

For anyone involved in a start up business, you will know what its like, and anyone who is thinking about it, my advice is…..JUST DO IT!

I think if you believe you’re product is good and are prepared to work hard, then it’s the most amazing experience.

Also, if you’re looking for some cool guitar stuff, can I recommend Saint Blues Guitars, Fleabass, Grover Allman Picks and Third Hand Capo this month….NICE!!
